Media and Film has always been a passion of mine having worked in the industry for companies such as Creativity Media and Visual Line and now I am looking to pressure a career in teaching so that I can share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of filmmakers.
I have just completed my PGCE FE at Canterbury Christ Church University, and I was most recently on placement at the University of Creative Arts in their lens based media department. My goal is to find a supportive secondary school where I can achieve my QTLS.
- Classroom management, dealing with classes of 45 students at a time.
- Subject knowledge, both practical and theoretical having studied the subject at GCSE, A level and degree level.
- Incorporating a wide variety of teaching resources, using software such as powerpoint, websites such as smore, padlet, google quizzes and apps such as kazoo.
- Practical experience, I always enjoy bring a practical aspect to my lesson to intrigue and push students to their potential.

Teacher of Lens Based Media
For my teaching placement at University I taught lens based media at UCA Canterbury, this subject is a combination of film, photography, animation and game design.
Throughout my time here I have taught a variety of course subjects from montage, cinematic lighting, editing in Premiere Pro, script writing and more. Due to my placement being at a University all of the students that I teach are 16 plus. The classes I taught have ranged from as little as 5 students to as many as 45 students.
I always received great feedback from my students for my lessons and workshops, mainly enjoying the practical aspects I added. My students were always able to learn new skills or improve on an existing one. My favorite achievement was getting students excited about the subject itself and showing how interesting it can be.
