🕒 Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term time only)

💼 About the Role
Heart Teaching is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Tonbridge Wells to recruit a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant. You’ll work alongside experienced educators to support pupils aged 7–19 who require additional emotional, social, and academic support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a real impact on young lives and supporting pupils in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
🧩 Key Responsibilities

Support class teachers with lesson delivery and learning activities

Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

Foster self-esteem, resilience, and confidence in students

Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies

Assist with behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques

Maintain records and provide feedback on pupil progress
✅ Requirements
-
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

Experience in an SEMH setting or similar provision (preferred)

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A positive, proactive, and empathetic approach

Must have (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check
