This is a unique and outstanding special school for children and young people with profound, severe, and complex needs aged 4 to 19 years. Almost half of the pupils have a diagnosis of autism and speech and language difficulties whilst some have complex medical needs.

By joining our school cohort, you will work in a variety of environments, no two days are the same.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will;

• Support students within the learning environments in order to promote their intellectual, physical, social and emotional development;
• Promote a caring environment and provide a high standard of care including assisting with personal care , mealtime assistance and Manual Handling;
• Ensure that communication with students, staff and other departments is effective and contributes to our high standards of care and personal development for students;
• Maintain excellent standards of safety and good practice in relation to safeguarding, health and safety issues, implementing students’ care plans and appropriately using the recording and reporting processes.

All staff will need an Enhanced adult and child Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Job Description – SEN Teaching Assistant

· SEN Teaching Assistant

· £11 to £12 per Hour

· Monday – Friday (term time only)

· 8.30am start to 3.30pm finish

· Working in a district special school

· Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for learners with SEN

· Working 1:1 & 2:1 with individual children, and in small groups

· Liaising with SEN professionals at the school

· Long term and full-time contract available

· Safeguarding and prevent training (provided)

· Located in Gravesend.
