Heart Teaching are working with a specialist school in the Maidstone area of Kent who are currently looking for a part & full time experienced Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people with profound, severe and complex needs, many of whom are on the Autistic Spectrum.


  • Providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex needs, including sensory processing difficulties, motor coordination difficulties and fine motor skills difficulties.
  • Providing specialist advice and training to school staff, parents, and other professionals involved in the care of the children and young people.
  • Developing and implementing individualised occupational therapy programmes for children and young people.
  • Working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and teachers.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures within the school.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Experience of working within a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full driving license and access to a car.

Salary: Competitive Band 6 salary dependent on experience.
