SEN Teacher
Pay: £31,650 to £49,084 per annum plus SEN allowance (Dependent on experience)
About the Role:
Heart Teaching is looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join an inspiring and dynamic team at an SEN school in Maidstone. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and complex needs.
If you are a dedicated teacher with experience in SEN, this is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of children. You’ll help shape students’ educational experiences by providing tailored, high-impact teaching that supports their development both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of students with various SEN.
- Monitor student progress and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to track and support their development .
- Work closely with other staff members including teaching assistants, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to provide integrated support .
- Promote student independence, self-confidence, and social integration, helping them achieve personal and academic success .
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit diverse learning needs and abilities .
- Maintain open communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress .
- Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment, fostering respect and collaboration among students .
- Keep accurate records of progress, behaviour, and achievements .
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in an SEN or mainstream school setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
- Ability to differentiate teaching and create individualized learning plans for each student.
- A commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest practices in SEN education.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
