About the Role:
Heart Teaching is hiring a Student Support Assistant (SSA) for a SEN school in Kent. In this rewarding role, you will support students with physical disabilities, complex medical needs, and learning difficulties. Your role will be to help create an inclusive and nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. 🌈
You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support tailored to each student’s needs. 🤝
Key Responsibilities:

Support students in both learning and residential settings to promote their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development 🧠💪

Assist with personal care tasks, such as toileting and mealtime support, ensuring dignity and respect 🙌

Help implement individualized care plans to promote student independence 🌟

Safely follow moving and handling procedures as per training 🛠️

Monitor health and safety standards and report any safeguarding concerns 🛡️

Use AAC systems (e.g., visual aids, assistive tech) to support students with communication difficulties 📱🗣️

Collaborate with therapists and healthcare professionals to deliver specialized care and interventions 👩⚕️👨⚕️

Maintain accurate records and follow reporting procedures 📂

Knowledge of SEN support practices and experience working with young people with special needs 👩🏫

Physically fit to support students with mobility needs 🏃♀️

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one) 🛂

Right to work in the UK 🏠

Two professional references from the last 2 years 📑

Willingness to complete the Vigurs vetting process to comply with safeguarding standards ✅
