💼 About the Role
Heart Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school based in Bromley. This specialist setting caters to students aged 7–19 with additional emotional and behavioural needs, and is looking for someone who truly wants to make a lasting impact on young lives.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential.
🧩 Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

Work with students one-to-one or in small groups based on individual needs

Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

Contribute to the implementation of tailored learning plans (IEPs)

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
-
Provide regular feedback on student progress and wellbeing
-
Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and outside professionals
✅ Requirements
-
Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)

Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable)

Experience working with children or young people, especially in SEMH settings (preferred but not essential)

Calm, confident, and empathetic approach to behaviour support

Strong communication and teamwork skills

An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
