Are you a caring, patient, and proactive individual who thrives in a supportive learning environment?
Heart Teaching is seeking a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Tonbridge, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
This is a term-time only, full-time role—perfect for someone passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.
🧠 Your Role Will Involve:

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with communication, sensory, and physical needs

Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning plans

Using a range of communication tools, such as PECs, Makaton, and sensory strategies

Assisting with personal care tasks where required

Encouraging independence and promoting positive behaviour

Helping create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and/or PMLD (desirable but not essential)

A calm, resilient, and patient approach to challenging behaviours
-
Good communication and teamwork skills

A commitment to supporting all learners to reach their potential

A willingness to assist with personal care (training provided if needed)

Ability to work Monday to Friday, term-time only (8:30am–3:30pm)
