Heart Teaching is seeking a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Tonbridge, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

This is a term-time only, full-time role—perfect for someone passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

🧠 Your Role Will Involve:

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with communication, sensory, and physical needs

• Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning plans

• Using a range of communication tools, such as PECs, Makaton, and sensory strategies

• Assisting with personal care tasks where required

• Encouraging independence and promoting positive behaviour

• Helping create a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and/or PMLD (desirable but not essential)

• A calm, resilient, and patient approach to challenging behaviours

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• A commitment to supporting all learners to reach their potential

• A willingness to assist with personal care (training provided if needed)

• Ability to work Monday to Friday, term-time only (8:30am–3:30pm)
