🕒 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm) | Term-Time Only
💰 Pay: £13.70 – £15.20 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Heart Teaching is seeking a dedicated, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Tonbridge that supports students with profound, multiple, and complex learning needs, including autism. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where every day offers the chance to make a real impact.

💼 Your Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in supporting students’ learning, emotional well-being, and independence. You will:

• Provide tailored support to individuals and small groups with SEN, in and out of the classroom

• Adapt resources to suit different learning abilities and styles

• Support students with personal care, where necessary

• Record progress and share feedback with teachers and families

• Collaborate with the SENCO and external professionals such as speech and occupational therapists

• Foster an inclusive, positive environment that encourages confidence and independence

• Assist with behaviour management, following school policies

• Take part in regular training and professional development

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting students with SEN (preferred but not essential)

• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one

• Right to work in the UK

• Two professional references from the last two years

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Patience, empathy, and a true passion for supporting students with additional needs

• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection best practices
