About the Role:
Heart Teaching is working in partnership with a specialist school in the Bromley area to recruit a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (Band 6). This role involves delivering high-quality, child-centred occupational therapy services to students with profound, severe, and complex needs – many of whom are on the autistic spectrum.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team, where your expertise will directly support the development, well-being, and independence of children and young people with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:

🧠 Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver targeted interventions tailored to each child’s unique needs.

🤝 Provide specialist advice and support to school staff, parents, and other professionals.

✍️ Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes, focusing on sensory processing, fine motor skills, and daily living skills.

👥 Work collaboratively with speech & language therapists, physiotherapists, and educators to deliver holistic care.

📈 Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development within the school.

📚 Deliver training to staff and carers to support therapy strategies in day-to-day school life.
Requirements:

✔️ Degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc).

✔️ Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

✔️ Substantial experience supporting children with SEND.

✔️ Background in educational settings is desirable.

✔️ Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.

✔️ Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for travel between settings).
