🕒 Full-time, Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm
💰 Pay: £13.70 – £15.20 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role:

Heart Teaching is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Gravesend supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the educational and personal development of pupils with complex needs. 💙🌈

You’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that empowers students to grow their independence and social skills. 🤝✨

Key Responsibilities:

• Support implementation of Individualised Education Health Care Plans (IEHCPs) for pupils with PMLD 📋

• Provide personal care and physical support while maintaining dignity and safety 👶🛡️

• Use AAC systems (visual aids, symbols, assistive tech) to support communication 💬📱

• Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs 📚

• Assist with daily living skills including mealtime, mobility, and personal care 🍽️🚶‍♂️

• Encourage independence and positive social interaction 🤗

• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and achievements 📊

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals on therapy programs 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

• Maintain safeguarding standards and contribute to a safe learning environment 🔐

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD (highly desirable) 🌟

• Knowledge of strategies for supporting complex learning and physical needs 🧠

• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills 💖

• Ability to multitask and stay organised 📅

• Effective communication and teamwork skills 👫

• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare 🛡️

• Willingness to work collaboratively under professional guidance 🤝

Requirements:

• Experience with PMLD support preferred ✅

• Ability to implement and adapt IEHCPs 📝

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) 🛂

• Right to work in the UK 🇬🇧

• Willingness to complete Vigurs vetting for safeguarding compliance ✔️
