SEN Teaching Assistant – Daily Supply – Kent – ASAP start

Are you a student currently looking for flexibility work within the week Monday – Friday to work around your studies?

Do you have work experience supporting in a classroom, tutoring young children, or leading workshop in sport, drama, dance etc?

Are you interested in completing a PGCE course and what to gain valuable experience whilst making a difference?

The right candidate will be given the responsibility to support the class teacher and children across KS1, KS2 and KS3. We will always try and keep you working as local as possible however, being able to travel across the Kent and being flexible will open more opportunities to work. You will be carrying out small intervention sessions with small groups or work with children on a one-to-one basis with higher or lower ability levels. You may be asked to lead interventions which could include literacy, numeracy, spelling, handwriting, motor skills, reading skills etc.

All staff will need an Enhanced adult and child Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Required Skills & Experience:

· Previous and recent experience of working with children within the last 2 years

· Strong, positive behaviour management skills

· Can confidently deliver the National Curriculum

· Work independently and as part of a team

· Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident

 

Job Description – SEN Teaching Assistant

· Teaching Assistant

· £75 – £90 per day

· Monday – Friday (term time only)

· Working 1:1 & 2:1 with individual children, and in small groups

· Liaising with SEN professionals at the school

· Safeguarding and prevent training (provided)

 

Person Specification –SEN Teaching Assistant

· A strong academic background – GCSEs/A Levels or higher

· Previous experience working in a similar role, or your own personal experience working with children with SEN, would be ideal

· Strong behaviour management skills

· Hardworking, driven and committed

· Caring, compassionate and calm nature

· Patience and passion for supporting children with SEN

· Ability to work as part of a team
