About the Role:

Heart Teaching is seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join our team and provide high-quality therapy services across SEN Schools in the Bromley area 🌟. As a SALT, you will work with students who have communication difficulties and/or disorders, helping them to develop essential skills that improve their ability to communicate effectively 🗣️.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on students’ lives by providing personalized therapy, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting children with varying communication needs 💬.


Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Conduct assessments of students with communication difficulties and/or disorders to identify needs and set clear therapy goals 🎯.
🔹 Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to the unique needs of each student 💡.
🔹 Provide therapy sessions to students either individually or in groups, focusing on communication skills 🧠.
🔹 Monitor and evaluate progress of students in therapy sessions, ensuring therapy plans are effective and measurable 📊.
🔹 Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to supporting students’ communication needs 👨‍🏫👩‍👧.
🔹 Provide training and support to staff members on communication strategies, techniques, and best practices 📚.
🔹 Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, student progress, and outcomes 📝.
🔹 Participate in meetings and reviews with the school’s multidisciplinary team to discuss students’ progress and development 📅.
🔹 Stay current with research and best practices in speech and language therapy to ensure that therapy approaches are up-to-date and effective 🔍.


Requirements:

✔️ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related field 🎓.
✔️ HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council) 🔒.
✔️ Experience working with children and young people who have communication difficulties and/or disorders 🧸.
✔️ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, staff, and parents 👥.
✔️ Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team 🤝.
✔️ Excellent organizational and time management skills ⏰.
✔️ Commitment to ongoing professional development 🌱 and staying updated with advancements in speech and language therapy 🧑‍🏫.
