Occupational Therapist
Job Description:
Heart Teaching are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at a SEN school located in Maidstone. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and well-being of our students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments to evaluate students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
- Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans to address students’ specific needs and goals.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
- Providing direct therapy sessions to students both individually and in group settings.
- Monitoring students’ progress and adjusting therapy interventions as needed.
- Contributing to the development of school-wide strategies to promote sensory regulation and fine motor skill development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
- Strong understanding of sensory processing disorders and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
