About the Role:

Heart Teaching is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team at an SEN school in Tonbridge. In this role, you will work with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. Your work will have a direct impact on the educational and social development of these young learners, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive in the classroom 🌟.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with a range of SEN.
🔹 Assess and monitor student progress, using individualized education plans (IEPs) to support and track development 📊.
🔹 Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists 🤝.
🔹 Support students in developing social and life skills, helping them achieve their full potential 🏆.
🔹 Adapt teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse learning needs of each student 📚.
🔹 Provide feedback to students and their families about progress, achievements, and areas for development 💬.
🔹 Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging and encourages personal growth 💖.
🔹 Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and development 📝.


Requirements:

✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
✔️ Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally within an SEN or mainstream school setting 🏫.
✔️ Strong communication skills to effectively work with students, staff, and parents 🤗.
✔️ Ability to differentiate teaching methods and tailor resources to suit individual needs 🧩.
✔️ A commitment to continuing professional development and keeping up-to-date with the latest best practices in SEN teaching 🌱.
✔️ Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and their families 💖.
✔️ An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one) 🛡️.
