Heart Teaching is seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced special school in Longfield, Kent, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with profound, severe, and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a full-time, term-time only position—perfect for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs in a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

🧠 Your Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 or 2:1 support to pupils with complex needs and Autism

• Adapt classroom activities to suit individual learning styles and abilities

• Support academic, emotional, and social development

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff

• Engage pupils in structured learning and play-based activities

• Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

• Follow safeguarding, personal care, and behaviour support protocols

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, especially ASD

• Strong behaviour management, teamwork, and communication skills

• A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach

• Willingness to undertake training and commit to ongoing professional development

• A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference

📋 Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)

• Right to work in the UK

• Two professional references

• Completion of all safeguarding vetting checks
