About the Role:
Heart Teaching is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive special school in Longfield, Kent. This school supports children and young people aged 4–19 with profound, severe, and complex needs, including many on the Autistic Spectrum.

In this fulfilling role, you will provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to pupils, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. 🧩💛

Working closely with teachers and SEN professionals, you’ll adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, ensuring students feel supported and included. 🤝

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support for pupils with Autism and complex needs 🌱

• Adapt and differentiate classroom activities for SEN learners 🧠

• Promote emotional, social, and academic development 🎓

• Collaborate with SENCOs, therapists, and support staff on personalised strategies 👩‍🏫

• Support learning and structured play activities 🧩

• Help maintain a calm and inclusive classroom environment 🌈

• Follow safeguarding and behaviour support protocols 🛡️

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEN, especially Autism 👦👧

• Strong behaviour management and teamwork skills 🤝

• Calm, caring, and patient attitude 🌸

• Resilient, committed, and enthusiastic approach 💪

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 💬

• Willingness to undertake training and develop professionally 📚

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply) 🛂

• Right to work in the UK 🏠

• Two recent professional references 📄

• Completion of safeguarding vetting process ✅
