💼 About the Role:

Heart Teaching is excited to be working with a well-regarded SEN school in Croydon, supporting their search for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with primary-aged pupils who need additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH).

As an SEMH TA, you will help children overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships, and build the confidence they need to thrive – academically, socially, and emotionally. 🌱💙

🔑 Key Responsibilities:

✅ Provide 1:1 and 2:1 tailored support to children with SEMH needs
✅ Help adapt and deliver a personalised curriculum 📚
✅ Support students in managing behaviours and developing emotional resilience 🧠
✅ Work with teachers, therapists, and external professionals 🤝
✅ Foster a calm, positive learning environment 🌈
✅ Track and report on progress, behaviour, and engagement 📊
✅ Promote safeguarding and student well-being at all times 🛡️

👀 What We’re Looking For:

✔️ Experience working with children with SEMH, SEN, or in alternative provisions
✔️ Calm, patient, and resilient attitude 🌸
✔️ Confidence in managing behaviour and promoting positive choices
✔️ Strong communication and collaboration skills 🗣️
✔️ Passion for supporting vulnerable children and making a difference 💛

✅ Requirements:

🛂 Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)
🏠 Right to work in the UK
📑 Two recent, relevant professional references
📚 Willingness to complete safeguarding training and compliance checks
